The Lakehouse residential block sits just west of downtown Denver, Colorado at the south edge of Sloan’s Lake. This project will include 226 units and is on course to become Colorado’s first WELL Certified building, denoting a strong commitment to the health and wellbeing of all tenants. The WELL standard takes into account a number of quantifiable metrics such as air and water quality, light sources, access to recreational outlets and community activities. The master developer for this project is an innovative and well respected firm based in Denver, Colorado.
A central facet of this developers focus on wellbeing is a mezzanine level rooftop farm area that Agriburbia has designed and will operate. The area will host production of culinary herbs, medicinal herbs, a variety of vegetables, as well as a ‘you-pick’ area that will allow tenants to casually pick and consume a variety of herbs and berries. Furthermore, this area will provide the opportunity and context for a selection of classes and workshops regarding nutrition, the culinary arts, and food production.
This rooftop food production is the first of its kind in Colorado, and is sure to aid in the development of a health-conscious community moving into the future. Agriburbia is also consulting with this developer to outfit their office with an innovative indoor herb production area.
